After completing my first degree I joined the English and Romanian Adoptee (ERA) study headed by Professor Sir Michael Rutter. This invaluable research study assessed the impact of poor quality institutional care on child development. I decided to train as a Clinical Child Psychologist after seeing the potential for recovery in children following adoption from Romanian orphanages.
I gained my Doctorate in 2001 and then worked in a variety of NHS settings. During this time I received additional training in Webster-Stratton Parent Training, TEACCH, Systemic Family Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.
Since leaving the NHS to develop a private practice, I have continued to develop my skills through regular specialist training and collaboration with other mental health professionals and researchers.
I currently work with children, adolescents, adults and families in the North London, Barnet and Enfield areas.
