Dr Lisa Honeyman

Clinical Director and Principal Clinical Psychologist

After completing her first degree in psychology Dr Lisa Honeyman joined the English and Romanian Adoptee (ERA) study headed by Professor Sir Michael Rutter. This invaluable research study assessed the impact of poor quality institutional care on child development. Lisa decided to train as a Clinical Psychologist after seeing the potential for recovery in children following adoption from Romanian orphanages.

Dr Honeyman gained her Doctorate in 2001 from King's College London and then worked in a variety of NHS settings. During this time she undertook additional training in Webster-Stratton Parent Training, TEACCH, Systemic Family Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.

Since leaving the NHS to develop a private practice, Dr Honeyman has continued to develop her skills through regular specialist training and collaboration with other mental health professionals and researchers.

She currently works with children, adolescents, adults and families in the North London, Barnet and Enfield areas.

  • Senior Clinical Psychologist with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, Finchley and Service for Children and Adolescents with Neuro-developmental Difficulties, Barnet, 2004-2008

  • Clinical Psychologist in Private Practice 2008-2026

  • Clinical Director and Principal Clinical Psychologist at Honeyman Clinical 2026-present
